How to care for steel components
We recommend a quick clean every one to two weeks depending on your location. In coastal areas, for example, the high salt levels in the air may cause ‘tea staining’. This is the corrosion of stainless steel and it can look a little like rust. It is primarily cosmetic, and although aesthetically unattractive, it doesn’t affect the structural integrity of the fence posts.
If tea staining does occur a restoration compound may be required to restore the surface before applying the EnduroShield. For further information about tea staining, visit the Australian Stainless Steel Development (ASSD) website.
